Extended Bistro Hours We've extended our bistro hours to welcome in the warm weather! We are now serving lunch 7 days a week; 11:30-3 Monday to Friday, and 11:30-4 Saturday and Sunday. We are currently open in the ciderhouse for tours, tastings, and sales 7 days a week from 10:30-5. Keep checking back for updated hours for events, specials and the start of our pizza nights on the back deck.

Mother's Day

Spoil your Mother! Bring your mothers and grandmothers to Merridale this Mother's Day. It's the perfect way to spend a day together. Start by taking in the scenery with a stroll through our orchards. As you near the building you will be sure to smell the meal our chefs have prepared for you. From 11:30 to 4:00 a buffet lunch menu will be available in the restaurant. Make sure you stop inside to check in with our servers before your orchard walk as we filled up quickly this year with reservations and only have limited walk in room left.

Blossoms & Bees at Merridale

The bees are back! After Vancouver Island lost 90% of their honey bees last year to disease, we are pleased to welcome back ten bee hives for the summer. They have been working hard to pollinate the apple trees, which are now in bloom! So hurry out, as these budding apple blossoms will only last for the next ten days.

Fundraiser for the Kinsol Trestle

Dance the night away for charity! Indulge in a night out while giving back to the community. In June we will be holding a fundraiser dance for the Kinsol Trestle. We will be featuring some local rock stars from Brentwood College School, Da Band, that will perform all night long on the back deck. To complement the music and dancing, our brick oven will be fired up to make our renowned pizzas that only make their appearance in the warm weather. Entrance for the night will be by donation and all the funds collected will go directly to the restoration of the trestle. On Saturday, June 12th, help restore a bit of local heritage while dancing the night away!

Help Us Support The MS Society

Our tasting bar collections for the month of May will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada to help them with their MS Awareness Month. Their mission is “to be a leader in finding a cure for multiple sclerosis and enabling people affected by MS to enhance their quality of life.” With next to no government funding the society owes their longevity to the support of the public. MS is an unpredictable disease that disables the nervous system, which includes your spine and brain. Your donations will be utilized for research into the treatments, causes and cures for multiple sclerosis and for services to help those suffering from the disease.

Merridale at the Wine Islands Tasting!

Tour the Island Wineries in one place! On May 13th over twenty two of our local wineries will be sampling their products paired alongside Merridale's brick oven bread, Evening Coast Oysters and Little Qualicum Cheese. The WIVA passports will also be handed out at this event. These give you a chance to win winery tours and travel getaways while touring the island wineries. So come out to The Inn at Laurel Point on May 13th between 5pm and 7pm for a chance to get to know your local wineries. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Spinnakers James Bay and Spinnakers Spirit Merchants. For more information check out the WIVA website.
